FloodBreak

Established in 2001, FloodBreak specializes in passive automatic flood barriers that deploy without human intervention or power. These innovative solutions have been installed in thousands of locations across 37 states and 18 countries, providing reliable flood protection for over two decades. The company’s commitment to addressing unique flood challenges has made it a leader in the field of flood mitigation.

FloodBreak’s team wanted to elevate their current brand with a refresh and update their website. Working with FloodBreak’s CMO, Rich Driscoll, and Brand Manager, Alexis Scott, we developed a brand refresh that was consistent, clean, and modern without losing decades’ worth of brand recognition. We then created a new website that tackled all of their technical needs to showcase their projects and markets served efficiently.

Services

Old Brand

We started the brand refresh journey with in-depth discussions on the company, their goals, and their competitors. Once we were on the same page, a dive into their current brand informed us on how we planned to improve.

FloodBreak’s old brand was disorganized, monotone, and lacking in consistency across usage.

Their logo felt out of balance with a skewed gradient line and secondary font that did not compliment their primary “FloodBreak” font.

Overall, these minor issues made their brand feel dated and unpolished.

Brand Refresh

We touched up their logo to be more structured, solidified their typography across usage, and clarified their brand colors.

“You understood the brief extremely well and helped bring the vision to life with great alternative options. I loved the creative vision and eye you added to our team for this project.”

Old Website

While FloodBreak’s website had great SEO-optimized content, the design was monotone, varied from page to page, and lacked internal ease-of-use.

Some of the key requests for the redesign were to make the site be on-par with their competitors to look more modern and professional as well as having more advanced functionality in features.

New Website

We not only redesigned their 30+ page website but also made major improvements to how their internal page structure was managed and created custom-illustrated icons for their individual solutions which required product-accurate depictions.

We turned their individual markets and project pages into dynamically generating templates so that they could input content without having to worry about the front-end design and easily update it all from the back-end of the site. This process not only made the page management more user-friendly, but also ensured that all of the pages were consistent in layout.

On their “Projects” page, we implemented a filter system to cater to FloodBreak’s particular project categories, including the market served, the type of product, and the location where the project took place.
